Description

For Parshas Shoftim we will study the mitzva of אליו תשמעון, i.e. to comply with the mandate of the prophet. We will study the scope of the authority of a Navi, and analyze the question: to what extent can the Navi tell us to violate the Law? There are 4 conditions that have to be met, one of these is the concept of Hora'as Sha'ah. What is the scope of Hora'as Sha'ah? What is the Halachik significance of the episode of Eliyahu on Har HaCarmel?
