For Masechet Berachot 10a: we will discuss two sugyot: The Issur of eating before davening; and the latest time for Birchot Kriat Shema. The first sugya will lead to an analysis of the difference between eating before Shachris and eating before the other Tefillot. In the case of Shachris the Gemorah derives the Issur from a pasuk and this generates an Issur Achila per se; with regard to other tefillot we have a סייג rather than an איסור אכילה. We will offer a number of Nafka Minot. In the second sugya we will investigate three different views and attempt at defining the root of this three-way controversy.
