From Mei Marom perek 27. The exile is to the body as the redemption is to the soul. The soul descends into the body in order to elevate itself higher. If it remained above, it would not be able to experience an addition and elevation that this world enables. Redemption without exile is nothing. It requires exile in order or its true sweet and pleasant aroma to be smelled. God's descent onto Har Sinai is not a "yerida" but actually a revelation. We have to look at all yeridahs as a revelation of Hashem or else we can fall to the lowest level of yeridah, death (while living). All of our "yeridos" in life are all meant to add something greater to our lives. So too, the galus isn't meant to get us down, but to bring us up and long for the geula
