In this Halacha shiur for Pesach, we will continue our discussion re the mitzva of destroying Chametz. We will address the following question: can one throw his Chametz into the garbage pail on Erev Yom Tov? If the garbage will be removed before the Issur Chametz, we're OK. Otherwise, can we consider the chametz in the garbage as destroyed? We will study the Responsa and see if our case is similar to throwing the chametz into the toilet. Additionally, is the pail your private possession? If yes, does the pail function as a חצר which is an extension of one's רשות (domain), and any chometz in one's domain requires ביעור. Should we sell the pail to the non-Jew who buys our chametz? Must we pour something on the chometz to render it inedible?
