One object is oddly woven throughout the Parsha - avanim or stones. Yaakov places them under his head when he has his dream, he moves one off of the well when he meets Rachel, and he builds a monument with them at the end of the parsha. What is the significance of a stone in Judaism? We explore how Yaakov is setting out into exile to produce the eternal foundation stones that will eventually come together to construct Beit Yisrael.
