Description

Possible frameworks for force: 1) Arevut - personal responsibility for each other. 2) Tochacha - command to rebuke our misguided friends. -- Interrelated, but different. Tochacha is words, arevut is more actions above and beyond. -- Rabbeinu Yona and the framework of punishment. -- Difficulties in the sources for such a view if taken literally. -- Ramban and specifically about those who are "merudin". -- Which mitzvot are "force-able". -- Rambam's famous line about force just bringing out the "inner will". -- Whether a declared apostate would fall under this rule if his "inner will" is clearly not Torah-oriented.
