In this shiur we offer an introduction to the mitzva of destroying Chametz. We will study the sources from the Torah, thru the Gemara & Rishonim and later commentaries including the poskim. Is the mitzva of Tashbisu a קום ועשה, an active mitzva, or a שב ואל תעשה, a passive mitzva the goal of which is not having chametz in my possession. If one has no chometz must he obtain chometz in order to destroy it? What method of getting rid of one's chometz constitutes a fulfillment of this mitzva?
