Description

P. 317. To fix the nefesh (soul), we must understand what the nefesh is, and how it works? Our ways are very different from modern psychology; not only that, the study of the body and the soul are dramatically different - we can only uncover the secrets of the nefesh by dissecting our own soul. Great care has to be taken when involving a non-Jewish therapist with a Jewish neshamah. The therapist's prescription can not be to go against halachah (Jewish law), but to tap into and properly activate the patient's kochos hanefesh (soul powers). Freud saw an animal inside every person; the Torah sees the neshamah Elokis (divine soul) inside every Jew. We contain within us thousands of years of Shabbos, mikveh (ritual bath), Torah, maimad (standing at) Har Sinai. The secret lives of the "characters" in Yerushalayim. Freud's sick analysis as to why Jews "shockel" (sway) when they pray.
