Description

Page 311. In our generation, the avodah (task) of reaching Hashem is much easier, because Hashem has "descended" to be much closer to us. The tzaddikim's (righteous) teachings must reach down to each generation and broaden Chassidus to make it available to regular people. We must find pieces of our lives that bring us down and turn them into areas of action against our yetzer harah (evil inclination). Earler tzaddikim could never have imagined the spiritual pollution and filth we are exposed to. The nature of chassidus is for the Rebbe to head right down to the basement where the Jew is. Making chassidic teachings simpler and available to us today. The new Breslov Pirkei Avos - completely in tune with our needs. A cheftzah (piece) of Yiddishkeit, rather than just finding a halachic excuse to do, or not to do. Exercises to establish a rhythm of life aligned with Yiddishkeit.
