Description

P. 307. The chassidic approach to studying kabbalah (mysticism) is different from that of the earlier kabbalists. The main emphasis is not on the past, but how I can change and improve in the future. Chassidus - ultra-modern and completely in tune with the psychology of today's neshamah (soul). T'shuvah (repentance) then, and t'shuvah now. The illusion: reading chassidic texts, and then everything is A-OK. Chassidus is for a person who wants to work on himself. Today's sforim (holy texts) have to expand the reach of chassidus, t'shuvah and halachah - breadth rather than depth; even we have learn the Mishnah Brurah from end to end we won't know ho to properly keep Shabbos.
