In this Iyun shiur for Masechet Berachot 8a: we will analyze three contiguous statements in the Gemarah. Rav Chisda establishes the priority of 'She'arim HaMetzuyanim BiHalacha'. Ula establishes that the 'four Amos of Halacha" replace the Beit HaMikdash. Abaye decides that the best location for Tefilla is the place where one studies Torah. What did Abaye learn from R' Chisda & Ula that lead him to his conclusion? We will study the sugya in Megilla that addresses the issue of converting a Beit HaKneset to a Beit HaMedrash or visa versa. Why doesn't Abaye here in Berachot relate to the sugya in Megilla? If the sanctity of the B"M exceeds that of the B"K why didn't Abaye pray in his B"M from the start?
