In this shiur we will analyze the most important principle that operates in Meleches Shabbos, i.e. Meleches Machsheves. We generally assume that this principle operates Le'Kula, as a Ptur, e.g. Eino Miskavein, Eino Tzricha LeGufua, Misasek, Mekalkel, etc. The story is more complex; Meleches Machsheves defines the uniqe nature of Meleches Shabbos, but this works Le'Chumra as well. We will begin by analyzing Meleches Bone (בנין) based on the Avnei Nezer, and continue to define Meleches Bishul and Mechabeh, and we will see that an action which would not qualify by universal Halachik standards, i.e. כל התורה כולה, will qualify as a Melacha on Shabbas due to his desire & intent to achieve his goal.
