In this shiur, we will explore the sugya of the recitation of Tehila LeDavid, is the sugya referring to Pesukei DeZimra, or an independent kiyum of reciting this particular chapter 3x daily? We will see that this is a controversy between Rashi & the Rambam. The main part of today's shiur will focus on the kiyum of pesukei de'zimra and its similar kiyum, namely Hallel. The contrast between the two and the Halachik differences are fundamental. Whereas Pesukim is a Kiyum Yachid, Hallel engenders a Kiyum Tzibur as well. There are many unique Halachot that apply to Hallel which is an entity unto itself. We will present the paradox of Pesukei DeZimra. Is man obligated to praise God or enjoined from doing so? We'll try to find a reconciliation.
