Description

Semester 3: Shiur 7. PLEASE NOTE: We are trying to get to know our listeners a bit better. In the interests of facilitating this, please take a moment to fill out the brief survey featured at the end of the Source Sheet. I've posted the link here as well: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/R6PT9D2 In this class, we explore the rise of the Nasi as a Jewish communal leader. We explore the origins of this position, and document the manner in which it may have transformed through the ages. Our analysis focuses in particular on the character of R. Yehudah ha-Nasi, and his portrayal in sources from Eretz Yisrael and Bavel.
