Description
In this shiur we will try to analyze the overiding principle of Meleches Machsheves, which is both a kulah (leniency) and a chumra (stringency). We will divide the shiur into three topics. One, the nature of the Ptur of Mekalkel, a destructive act, e.g. one who rips clothing out of anger. Two, a melacha achieved by man's passivity - his state of 'Shev VeAl TaAseh', e.g. he remains in place capturing a deer. Three, the case of an indirect melacha, e.g. one who opens a road for the wind to blow the fire and fan the flames. We will understand a new interpretation of the Mishna regarding catching the deer, and based on Rabenu Chananel, we will see that intention could change the status of indirect melacha.
