Description

Based on a Torah by the Chelban, Rav Chaim Cohen. The best time for seeking Hashem - but often it seems like I am not receiving any answer. Hashem wants our avodah, and it seems that we can accomplish things that are, rationally, completely beyond us. If we could only feel and believe that Hashem is here and actually listening to our tefillos. Which person can truly say that, even with excellent concentration in davening and intently listening to the shofar, he has grasped everything that Hashem has made available on this awesome day? It should, by all rights, be impossible to serve Hashem. The only reason we can do this, is because Hashem commanded us; and because He has revealed that He exists, He gives us the ability to succeed. Learning can be enjoyed because it can become a merely intellectual exercise without emotional attachment. We need to get much less worked up over what is happening in our shul, neighborhood, town, even country. Our entire avodah is meaningless unless we live in the reality of "dirshu Hashem behimatz'o" (seek Hashem where He can be found) - all I'm doing is what You have commanded me. Hashem exists, it is our job to seek Him.
