Overview of Kinah (Lamentation) 25. Rav Kalonymus calls upon the Torah to cry over the death of the Torah scholars of Magence and the desolation of its Beis Hamidrash (study hall). The desolation of a place that experienced tragedy is itself a kinah. A garbage collectors strike does not absolve us of responsibility to keep Jerusalem clean. The modern trappings in Jerusalem are a parody of the holy city that should be.
