Only through Torah can we be in touch with our G-dliness. The way of a tzaddik is to regret and take off the dirty garment of his aveira (transgression). If not for Shabbos, the world would return to chaos. In the days of Chanukah, over ninety percent of the Jews were Hellenized. G-d is always finding way of pulling up Jews. We should think like Jews, that the physical world is not the end. Shabbos brings a Jew closer to Hashem. On Shabbos we light the candles, but on Chanukah, Hashem lights them. Each of the seven good middos (traits) have seven impure counterparts.
