Description

The two sides of Avraham are connected to the parshios Lech Lecha and Vayerah. In Lech Lecha, Avraham is seeking to discover himself from within himself and is limited to himself. In Vayerah, he is working on discovering Hashem and objective empirical truth. The level we are trying to reach is the second level where we want to know what Hashem wants, and not to rely on subjective emotions. When we are b'simcha (joyous), we can go beyond our borders and the limitations of ourselves. The evil agenda of the Yavanim (Greeks) was to break down the boundaries of kedusha (holiness). Our focus should not be in feeling, but in doing.
