Description

The month of Elul is hidden in the Torah's explanation of the Ir Miklat (City of Refuge). The Gra describes two types of accidental murder, while the Maharal explores the accidental murder caused by tolerating murderers. An Ir Miklat is also a city of Leviim, and thus a place where life and Torah are valued. A person who causes another to sin is worse than a murderer. Elul is the time of year to run back to Hashem.

      Hello Rabbi, I really enjoyed and gained from this shiur, but I had a question on the idea that you brought in the Gra about a Shogeg being a Karov Le'Meizid as, according to my understanding of Gemorah Makkos, a person who is found to be Karov Le'Meizid does not get galus.
