Description

The first perek. The middah (quality) of 'Mi Kel Kamocha'. We need to cultivate the ability to suffer embarrassment and continue to give even when the receiver is rebelling against us. The easy thing is to disengage from the relationship. Hashem has a cheishek (strong desire) for the Jewish people. We are called the most azus (tenacious) of all of the nations of the world, because we suffer all of the difficulties of being Hashem's people and yet we continue serving Hashem. Once a rebellious child is unburdened by their parents, they have nowhere to return to. The trademark of the tzaddikim is that they love all Jews, and even go out of their way for those who give them trouble. This does not mean that a regular person has to take abuse from another. Do your best to shoulder the responsibility of relationships.
