Shabbos, Yehudah and giving thanks are inextricably linked. Acknowledgment and thanks are two sides of the same coin. Only if we understand our inner selves can we bring redemption to others. It's worthless to engage in excessive kiruv (outreach) without concentrating on our internal “reshus hayachid” (private domain). Ancient Greece was the rejection of yiras (fear of) Hashem and the opposite of menuchas haNefesh (tranquility). Chanukah is a root of menuchas haNefesh.
