Description

Yiras Shamayim (Fear of G-d) and Menuchas Hanefesh (peace of mind) are very interconnected. Once we become focused on what Hashem thinks of us, we lose interest in what the rest of the world thinks of us. Hodaah (thankfulness) is another middah (quality) which adds to a life of menucha (tranquility). Hodaah means to thank or admit which are really two sides of the same coin. When we give thanks to G-d we are in essence admitting that we are in his domain. The Hodaah of Shabbos and Chanukah can remove ourselves from a world that is the antithesis of Menuchas Hanefesh!
