Description

P. 217. When it comes to Shalom Bayis (marital peace), the difference between the Torah and the non-Jewish chochma (wisdom) is very thin. A Jewish home is defined as an encounter between two sets of neshama (soul) and guf (body). A non-Jewish home works within the limitations of natural intellect and emotions. The less depth a relationship has, the less problems there are. The chochma of the non-Jews is from the guf, not the neshama. We must always see ourselves as a neshama enclothed in a guf. There are two ways of going about finding a zivug: (1) emunah (faith) and bitachon (trust), and (2) Hishtadlus. In our generation, both are necessary.
