Description

p. 141 (bottom) / 142 (top). Ratzon (desire) is a person's innermost force. When physical desires dissipate, true happiness and teshuvah (return to myself) can grow. Simply being happy doing what Hashem wants me to do. There is no permanent dwelling in this world. The wonderful enjoyment of "not needing." Instead of fighting physical ratzon, the root cause, we are overwhelmed by an endless series of battles. Living a "smaller" life with fewer desires. Different ways of responding when my plans arent' working out. The root of all wars - conflicting personal desires. Now that he has the position, is the president of the US happy? Our burning need for kavod (honor).
