Description

Based on the writings of Rav Chaim Cohen, the Chalban, Tallelei Chaim, Sefer Bereishis, P. 550. Yaakov Avinu, the chosen of the avos (forefathers); afraid of Esav, yet absolutely confident in Hashem. And that is why Yaakov continued to conduct himself (prepare) as if he was in a crisis. If I have a promise from Hashem, why do I need to daven at all? Hashem only promises if He knows that the person will continue to daven - there is full accountability, rather than a "welfare state." The implicit threat of reduced fear of Hashem once the promise has been received. A generational sense of entitlement. A promise is Hashem's business, our avodas (service of ) Hashem is our business, and it helps advance Hashem's promise into this world. Knowing the end, and at the same time davening - only Yaakov Avinu was able to live in both realities. When a person who "leans" only on Hashem loses physical wealth, he continues to stand tall. The amazing story of R' Yitzchak Breite.
