Greatness is a gift from Hashem. Our problem is not that we do not believe in ourselves rather it is that we do not believe in the infinite koach (strength) of the Creator. The Ramach himself wrote that what he revealed in Torah was much greater than what he worked for. Each of us comes into this world with our own customized assignment. Hashem's gift is sitting within us. We need to make ourselves worthy of Hashem's gifts.
