Description

Before the sin of Adam the evil inclination was external. Now the evil inclination talks from within us. We only think about what we have a desire for. A child has a strong desire to play and a weak desire to learn – the father has to amplify the child’s desire to learn. Which voice do we consider the “I” – our righteous voice or our evil voice? Before the sin, Adam’s job was simply to maintain footing in the good world. After the sin, Adam had to struggle to move from the bad world to the good world. Tzadikim’s (righteous people’s) situation is similar to Adam before the sin, while reshaim’s (evil people’s) situation is similar to Adam after the sin. After the sin, the body’s vice was strengthened and the soul’s voice was weakened.
