The Baal Shem loved the lowest Jew more than anyone is capable of loving his own children. If we think we feel ahavas Hashem (love of G-d) without true ahavas Yisrael (love of fellow Jews) then we are living in a world of illusion. 99% of divorces do not occur because of spiritual reasons. When we feel a love for the Creator our neshama should feel unity and love toward all Jews. How does conditional love survive bumps and problems if it is based on getting something in return?
