Description

The main point in davening (praying) is to get close to Hashem. Some of us get lost asking for things during davening but that is not the main point. Sometimes its hard for us to talk to Hashem because we can’t see Him. The best way to speak to Hashem is to speak to Him like we’d speak to a friend, but we can only do this if we really feel Him with us. The idea of gehinom (hell) doesn’t deter us from doing aveiros (sins) because we don’t actually see gehinom. It's our nature that something we don’t see, doesn’t bother us and therefore we aren’t really scared of punishment.
