A short piece from the sefer Derech HaMelech by the Piaczezna Rebbe helps us bring the concepts learned in Tiferes Yisroel down to practical action. When imagining plants, animals, people in general, and Jews in particular, begin by visualizing the spiritual collective neshama of the species, then follow it down to the individual elements. If an apikorus (heretic) wrote a Sefer Torah, the halacha is to burn the whole thing. Our body feels impelled to express emotions physically by the ruach (emotional soul). If we are not on fire in serving Hashem then we are only tapped into ourselves as an individual Jew, not as Knesses Yisrael (the collective Jewish neshama).
