Description

p 216. The zechus (merit) of Torah protects a Sotah (suspected adulteress) even though she has no mitzvah to learn Torah. The Torah has the ability to protect us forever. An aveira (transgression) can extinguish the zechus of a mitzvah, but not of Torah. The only simcha (joy) can be in the last moment of our life, when we know that we finally made it. Torah learning protects us the entire day when we learn in the morning. A mitzvah is like a candle in the dark, while Torah learning is like the sun. Coming out of learning with a practical halacha is called 'walking on the path'.
