Description

p 178. Malachim (angels) are closer to the spiritual worlds, but are still attached to the physical. The Torah's concern is with the spiritual function of physical things. The mitzvah of learning Torah is klali (all-encompassing) while all other mitzvos are bound to time and place. Torah is complete. Hashem has a power called kol (all) and our job is to understand that all is One. The less I can explain something, the holier it is. Individual Jews can be killed, but not the Jewish people. The yetzer hara (evil inclination) wants us to get stuck in pratim (details). As we come closer to Moshiach, there is a greater demand to understand both the general principles of Torah and the practical halacha.
