Torah and mitzvos help us to be on the straight path to Hashem. We reach dveykus through doing halacha. Everything in life follows the pattern of gadlus-kitnus-gadlus (expansion-restriction-expansion). Rachamim (compassion) is working hard while also being given gifts.
