Description

p 165. Chochma (wisdom) without yira (fear) is worse than not having any chochma at all. Something is tamei (spiritually impure) when there is nothing in a place where there should be something. The wisdom of the Torah keeps a Jew together with Hashem. The more we know, the more we should have yira for Hashem. Having chochma without yira is like having the key to the treasure chest, but not to the treasury. Chochma without yira will only lead to pain and suffering. If we truly love Hashem, we will naturally love other Jews and the Torah. An old Jew who forgot his Torah learning is still deserving of kavod (honor) because he lives with Hashem.
