Description
p 145. We find redemption from the physical world through doing mitzvos. Ba'alei teshuvah (returnees to Judaism) are often disappointed by the lack to spiritual sensitivity in the Torah-observant world. True spirituality begins with tikkun hamiddos (fixing character traits) and doing mitzvos. If you're not a mensch already, the Torah is not going to make you one. Everyone has to toil, but happy is the person who toils in Torah. When our beginning in avodas Hashem (Divine service) is easy, Hashem is giving us a gift. Ultimate fulfillment is dveykus (bonding) to Hashem.
