Description

p 143. The positive mitzvos are ways of resembling Hashem. Hashem despises the aveiros (sins) of murder, thievery, sexual immorality, and idolatry. The aveiros are the epitome of being embedded in physical desires. A sotah (suspected adulteress) has to offer a sacrifice of barley since she involved herself in actions fitting for animals. Kedusha (holiness) cannot exist in a place of znus (sexual perversion). Only mitzvos connect us to what is truly spiritual. Through making Hashem's will my will, I become similar to Him.
