Description
Rabbi Weinberger is using a piece from the Rebbe Rashab to elucidate the inner spiritual workings of the purpose of mitzvos according to the Maharal's teachings. This world is metaphorically described as Hashem's downward extending legs. Some mitzvos are ohr makif (surrounding light) and some are ohr pnimi (inner light). The surrounding light enlivens the organs and limbs, while the inner light allows us to see, hear, move, and think. History is structured like the human body. The Ohr Ain Sof (Hashem's infinite light) comes into this world through the tzimtzum (contraction). The mind is not capable of grasping Hashem's infinite essence.
