p 121. Our body is our root. When our actions outweigh our knowledge we are like a well-rooted tree. The simple people with emunah peshuta (simple faith) weather the storms of life better. Minhagim (established customs) dig our roots deeper, holding us more firmly in the world. Knowing and being connected to our Jewish history digs roots. Children begin learning Torah from the book of Vayikra, which is all about getting our hands dirty in serving Hashem. All potential is yearning to be revealed. Breaking our nature means breaking the externals of our nature. It takes the right teachers and rebbes to nurture a child's true nature.
