Description
p 116. A mitzvah brings us to dveykus (bonding) with Hashem whether we feel it or not. Doing an aveira (sin) causes a distortion in the universe, while a mitzvah causes a fixing. The system of the Seven Mitzvos was created at the beginning of Creation. The Seven Mitzvos preserve the seder (order) of the universe, as they are the seder of Creation. Every single moment of Jewish life is meaningful. A non-Jew can have an indirect effect on Creation through affecting a Jew. Three of the Seven Mitzvos are bein adam l'makom (between Man and Hashem). The seventh mitzvah, not to rip a limb from a living animal, is designed to help a non-Jew take control over his lusts and passions.
