Description
p 114. The essential purpose of a mitzvah is to be aware that I am doing the mitzvah because Hashem wants me to. Everything in the Torah, from the general to specific, are full of chochma (wisdom). A mitzvah does not require the understanding of the one receiving it, only the one giving it. Torah means l'horos (to teach). The Zohar says that if we do not do a mitzvah with love and fear, it does not go up. The greatness of the Jewish people is built in all of our actions, even when alone in the bathroom. The rest of the world is only concerned with wisdom for its own sake, not for its application in life. Every detail of every mitzvah refines and perfects us.
