p 108. Hashem gave us the mitzvah of tzedakah (justice) as a decree, not out of compassion. The highest reason for each mitzvah is hidden from us. Every single movement of a Jew is causing movement in the upper worlds. Hashem decreed that I act like Him which is the proper way to act. Emunah (faith) is infinitely more romantic than intellectualization. At the beginning of Creation, the name of G-d used is Elokim which represents din (judgment). We want to adjust ourselves to the Torah, not the opposite. We attach to the Creator by doing His decrees.
