Description

p 89. Purim comes to rectify the days of the week. Shabbos eating and drinking connects this world and the next, to draw kedusha (holiness) into our physical lives. All misery and pain is a result of being in this physical world. Anger is the lowest middah (character trait) and is the most physical reaction to being in a situation where we feel like we have no control. The thirty-nine melachos (categories of creative work) are thirty-nine categories of suffering from Adam's curse to work the land. The malchus (kingship) of Shabbos is that I don't need and am not affected by the world. The goal of Purim is to be completely physical.
