Description
p 68. The mitzvos are like a rope that pulls us out of this lower world. The neshama (soul) knows that each mitzvah is necessary. The mitzvos lo ta'aseh (the don't do's) prevent the distortion of our purpose of being here, and help us remain balanced. Death results from drifting away from the derech hachaim (path of life), that is, Torah. Man has the unique ability to connect this world to the next world. The sins of sexual immorality and thievery cause attachment to what is not yours. Positive mitzvos help us to acquire shleimus (perfection).
