Description

p 61. We are naturally inclined to constantly strive and climb toward perfection. The arena of our ameilus (toil) is in the mouth, to speak Torah and be involved in mitzvos. Moshe Rabbeinu's speech was healed at Har (Mt.) Sinai. The power of speech exists between the body and soul, the physical and spiritual. The greatest test of our free choice is in the realm of speech. The Torah was given on Shabbos because it is the day that creative work stops, but that Torah learning does not. Amal means to constantly move. Every Shabbos, the body dies a little and the neshama doubles in strength.
