Description

p 28 The sefer Tiferes Yisroel presents the Maharal's basic hashkafahs, and is considered his introduction to both the Written and Oral Torahs. Through learning the sefer slowly, we can learn what it means to be a Jew. Everything in creation has a purpose and has the instructions it needs to fulfill its purpose. Man is unique in that he has free choice and sechel (an intellectual soul) and has been given special G-dly activities in which to engage. A Jew is not meant to find the deepest meaning in his life in the physical pleasures and pursuits of the world. Our aveiros (sins) block our parnassa (income) from coming to us naturally. On Shabbos, we are not allowed to engage in birur (separating the bad from the good).
