The Yevanim could not tolerate the concept of the chosenness of the Jewish nation. We will will address the question: what is the nature of this chosenness? How is this Nation unique? Why is Yavan associated with darkness? Why does the light, the oil of the Menora, & the miracle that took place in the MENORA IN THE MIKDASH so significant that it justifies the establishment of a mo'ed unto itself? We will re-visit the presentation of the Ramban in Parshat Achrei Mot which formulates the unique and singular relationship between HaKaBaHu and Knesset Yisrael and Divine Providence over the Land of Israel. We will study the concept of הארת פנים as it applies to Yosef on the way down to Mitzrayim & the miracle of the oil in the Beit HaMikdash.
