P. 105 in Raza D'Shabbos, Eliyah Weintraub, zt'l's piece on Knesses Yisrael v'ha Zugo Shabbos. Knesses Yisrael (the Jewish people) and Shabbos are like chassan (groom) and kallah (bride), a perfect match. Every action paradoxically expresses the kochos ha nefesh (powers of the soul), and yet hides the essence of that koach (power). There is such hiddenness in the world that a person can actually say that there is no Hashem. Shabbos is the return to the primordial state before Creation. The closer something is to echad (one), the less revealed it is. The 36 hidden tzaddikim are giving life to the world, though we are not aware of this influence. The point is to reveal Hashem in everything in this world. If a person incorrectly sees a split between Elokus and the world, then they have to reject the world to reach Elokus.
