Description
P. 102 in Raza D'Shabbos, Eliyah Weintraub, zt'l's piece on Eidus (Testimony) on Shabbos. There is no eidus on the Yamim Tovim because they are remembrances of Hashem's 'actions' through the name Elokim that happened in this world and that we all saw. Eidus reveals what was hidden at a particular event, and also reveals the hiddenness of Hashem's true nature and the creation of the world. 'Eidus' has the same letters as 'daas'. Shabbos is a taste of the world before Creation, before Elokim. There is a special power of learning the secrets of Torah on Shabbos. Shabbos touches the part of a Jew that is hidden, and that's what everybody is looking for. A person who does not observe Shabbos is considered an 'eid sheker' (false witness). The deepest daas is ruach hakodesh (Divine Inspiration), that a person is able to comprehend things that are beyond this world.
