Description

P. 94 in Raza D'Shabbos, Eliyah Weintraub, zt'l's piece on Davening on Shabbos. Just as there is a resting of the system of the maamaros (sayings) of Creation on Shabbos, so too there is a resting of that same system with the person, which allows the neshama to be revealed. On Shabbos, you don't need the sechel to bring the neshama and body together, because then, the body understands. The transition from the week to Shabbos is a massive change. Shabbos is not a different day, it is a different reality. In the old country, most people used to light early and go to shul early. Lecha Dodi is the thematic continuation of Shir HaShirim.
